Our Cottage Bakery is in Cadillac, Michigan. I’m Mary and I have been a Midwife most of my adult life. In retirement now, I have time to pursue another passion- sourdough baking. Following Cottage Food Law in Michigan I can bake and sell directly to you. This concept works well for me because I make small batch, quality products for my community that

enhance health and taste great.


All my bread and pizza dough are leavened with sourdough starter I have used for more than a decade. This fermentation process begins digestion long before you eat a slice of sourdough bread and feeds your microbiome. Those who are gluten sensitive can often eat sourdough bread with no issue. I use organic, unbleached flour, ancient grain whole wheat and rye milled in my kitchen. The addition of whole wheat and rye makes for a more flavorful bread and the fermentation process makes vitamins and minerals bioavailable to you.
